In July 2008, I gave up my rental property in Brisbane to travel overseas. I'm now back in Australia, staying with my parents in Gympie, and trying to move back into Brisbane. However, I have a catch 22 problem: real estate agents don't want to rent me a place because I'm not employed (even my parents offering to be guarantors hasn't worked), and there's no point in my getting a job in Brisbane if I haven't got a house there.
So my thinking is, if I could get a house-sitting appointment in Brisbane (preferably for a few months), then I could start a job in Brisbane. Then, as the house-sit draws to a close, I could start looking around for a place.
So, that's the plan - that's my reasons for doing this. What else? I have experience living in and maintaining other people's homes/gardens/farms as a WWOOFer in France (see http://www.wwoof.org/ ). I was raised on a farm and had lots of pets growing up, so have experience with and fondness for many different kinds of animals.
I am a 26 year old female, with a Bachelor of Arts degree. I grew up in Central Queensland and have lived in Brisbane on and off for 10 years this year. My favourite pastimes are probably reading, riding my bike, being outdoors, listening to music, cooking. I like time to myself and to have my own place (hence another reason I am keen on housesitting), and I generally prefer to stay in of an evening. Having said that - I am friendly - I don't bite people or anything! lol
